Role: Transformation Office Lead

Role Description: Our client, an investment firm, is in the final stages of acquiring a top-3 player in the Saudi Arabian drilling services market. This acquisition will be the cornerstone of a new holding company that also includes several other related businesses (trading, distribution, and start-up manufacturing) in the mining services sector. The client has a detailed value creation plan but requires a hands-on, senior leader to drive it. The existing management team is small and needs an embedded expert to orchestrate this complex, high-stakes transformation.

The CTO will build the transformation infrastructure from scratch, drive execution with a hands-on "player-coach" approach, and establish the governance to ensure the ambitious 5-year plan is achieved. The immediate focus is on the core drilling services company, with the long-term goal of scaling this function into a template for the entire holding group.

The initial engagement will focus on establishing momentum and control:

  • Plan Finalization: Convert the existing business plan and due diligence findings into a detailed, 'live' initiative register with clear owners, timelines, and financial/operational KPIs.
  • Governance & Tracking: Design and implement a robust value creation tracking process and governance structure (e.g., weekly reviews, decision logs, unblocker meetings) to ensure rapid issue resolution. Configure a lightweight PMO tool to manage this.
  • Board-Level Reporting: Develop and manage a concise Board-level KPI dashboard, focusing on critical operational and financial metrics (e.g., rig productivity/utilization, HSE incidents, hiring velocity, margin, capex deployment).
  • Hands-on Implementation: Provide direct, hands-on support to initiative owners. Actively oversee the launch of "no-regret" operational fixes (e.g., spare parts management, fleet mobilization, HSE rigor, hiring discipline) to secure quick wins.
  • Scalable Framework: Build the TO structure to serve as a high-performance template that can be scaled across the holding company's other portfolio assets.

Location: 4 days week in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia
