Job Description

Client: Government Entity

Role: Manager

Role Description: Our client is a government entity responsible for all urban and rural master plans in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. They are currently working on a project to revitalize a major district in Abu Dhabi City.

This district is primarily an industrial and logistics zone, featuring many warehouses, car repair shops, and low-end wholesale and retail areas. It is also home to a largely blue-collar population. Given its proximity to Abu Dhabi City, there is a need to gentrify and revitalize this area. A proper master plan that aligns with the urban development ambitions of Abu Dhabi City is essential, as the zone currently lacks a cohesive vision.

Our client’s plan involves developing a master plan for this district with a clear vision. This plan will take into account projections for population and economic activity, identifying the purpose and sub-zones within the district.

The master plan reflects the Abu Dhabi leadership's vision for the zone and aligns with the broader master plan for Abu Dhabi City, of which this district is a part.

The Manager on this project will be responsible for working closely with our client’s Planning team to consolidate all technical inputs and create a cohesive and compelling narrative of the master plan to present to Abu Dhabi leadership for approval. The deliverable will be a presentation explaining the need for a new master plan for this district, the expected outcomes, and the requirements for its design and implementation.
